Activating a SIM

  • Insert the SIM card in your mobile device.
  • Call toll-free number 1244 to activate your SIM card. You are asked to select a language. The available options are Dutch, English or Polish.
  • You can call toll-free number 1244 to top up your call credit. Buy a call credit voucher and select option 2. Enter the 14-digit activation code and end with #. The value of the Lebara Mobile call credit voucher is added to your call credit automatically.
  • You can now call using your Lebara Mobile SIM card.

  • Insert the SIM card in your mobile device.
  • Call toll-free number 1244 to activate your SIM card. You are asked to select a language. The available options are Dutch, English or Polish.
  • Your SIM card already has call credit, which you will be able to use within 10 minutes of activating your SIM card. You can now call using your Lebara Mobile SIM card.

Free Number Retention

You can take your existing mobile telephone number to Lebara. This is called Number Retention and it's a free service offered by Lebara.

Please note: in order to use number retention, your SIM card has to be activated!

This is how it works

Print out the "retain number request" form that you can find on our website and complete it carefully and in full (please note that the form is in Dutch). Make sure that you accurately enter your name, mobile telephone number and the number that is printed on the SIM card of your current telecom provider. Also clearly state the mobile telephone number on your Lebara Mobile SIM card. Sign the bottom of the form and send it to Lebara Mobile.
When the form is received Lebara Mobile will contact your current telecom provider to agree the earliest possible date on which the number can be transferred. If you have a subscription you must take into account that you may be subject to a notice period with your current telecom provider (and you may have to pay to cancel). If you have any questions about this then please contact your current telecom provider. Within two weeks of receiving your request form your will receive a letter of confirmation with the date on which your number will be transferred to Lebara Mobile. After that date you can be called on your existing number via the Lebara Mobile SIM card and you will no longer need your old SIM card.

Number Retention Procedure & Conditions

Use a separate "Retain Number Request" form for each SIM card for which you would like to transfer the number to Lebara Mobile. Number retention is only applicable for transferring Dutch mobile telephone numbers and requests can only be accepted from a valid residential address in the Netherlands. You cannot transfer any additional numbers for voice and fax mail to Lebara Mobile. From the moment that the request form is signed and sent, up to the moment at which the transfer is completed, you are not permitted to transfer the SIM card (on which the number to transfer is active) to another person. If you called previously using Prepay then your Prepay balance with your former mobile telecom provider will be cancelled. Number retention is subject to the General Terms and Conditions of Lebara mobile. Lebara Mobile is not liable for direct or indirect losses caused if the telephone number is not transferred on time. You can cancel the number retention procedure by calling 0900-4321 321 within 3 working days after sending in the request form.

Attention!

It you want to transfer your existing mobile number you CAN NOT be called at the Lebara Family tariff. You can call others at the Lebara Family tariff.
